TS: Completely. Heroes of Ruin has been built from the ground up for the Nintendo 3DS. From StreetPass to SpotPass, we’re utilizing nearly every feature of the hardware, including internet multiplayer with voice chat.

Heroes of Ruin - more details

- n-Space had the idea for Heroes of Ruin for about eight years
- SpotPass content for the game every day for a year after it launches
- daily and weekly content
- Gunslinger is a ranged character, that's an ex-criminal turned lone-wanderer who travels the land dispensing justice for money in order to pay his massive debt.
- Vindicator is a lion-like warrior that has had trouble in his past and travels to Nexus because he believes it is a way to reclaim his honor
- Alchatecht is the female character that has a rivalry with someone in the game and is on a quest to become the greatest spellcaster in the land
- Savage is a beast-like character who uses his fists to smash things
- characters and their weapons can be customized
- use the D-pad for various functions
- left and right directions are used for mana and health
- up and down directions let you sell or equip gear while on the battlefield
- the more you play with a certain character, the more your rank with them grows

Heroes of Ruin - more info on multiplayer, loot drops, dungeon layouts

The following comments come from Alastair Cornish, External Designer for Heroes of Ruin...
- 227 different enemy creature types
- game will dynamically scale difficulty up when you’re playing in multiplayer
- expect more and stronger enemies
- play with other players regardless of level differences
- the party member that picks up gold drops will get a slight bonus
- for the most part, gold will be distributed equally amongst the rest of the party
- in single player, expect to see gear/item drops that focus in on your class, but you will see other class drops as well
- each time you enter a dungeon the layout will be different
- you will be required to revisit some dungeons

Heroes of Ruin - more details on weapons, class details, StreetPass and more

The following information comes from Tim Schwalk, producer at n-Space...
- "We’ve got over 20,000 weapons per class, we’ve got a tremendous amount of content."
- don’t have to go through menus to equip items
- pick up loot and equip it by pressing up on the D-pad
- weapons are class specific
- "20,000… weapons per class. We have a really cool randomization system. As loot is dropped, based on a lot of different factors, it’ll actually configure them and put them all together. It’s similar to sort of what Borderlands did, you’ll see some similar things, but a lot of cool really different things."
- automatically creates a StreetPass shop
- access in the middle of the Nexus
- when you pass another person, your loot populates another player’s trader’s network

- play as a mercenary who comes to Nexus to help find the cure and get your reward

This information comes from George Wright, Square Enix Producer...

- game in development for 6 months
- inspired by Western and Japanese adventure games
- story snynopsis:

Four mercenaries, each with their own strengths, weaknesses and motivations, answer a call to find a cure for the dying ruler of the city of Nexus. These unlikely heroes can choose to create a fearsome alliance or venture forth from the city alone. Beyond the safety of the city the land is filled with strange and dangerous creatures, but none as deadly as the evil force behind the curse, which the heroes must eventually confront and destroy.

- real-time combat system
- combat differences depending on if the player decides to play alone or with other heroes.
- enemies have various attacks, including ranged attacking from snipers, unblockable attacks from hulking beasts, and evasive and fencing attack behaviors
- SpotPass content includes daily challenges that reward with in-game items
- items that the player has sold to their Traders Network shop will be made available to every player via StreetPass
- player gets special points which scale with the rarity of the item
- accumulation of these points will grant access to special items in the shop like legendary weapons
- keep track of challenge progress on the community website
- challenges unique to the website as well
- over 200 enemies

Heroes of Ruin officially announced, first screenshots, teaser trailer

A few days ago we posted up the first details concerning a leaked game on it's way from Square Enix. Now that game has been officially announced along with the first screenshots of it, and has been confirmed to be playable at this years E3 and is set to release in early 2012. You can check out the teaser trailer and the other images after the break.

First details of Heroes of Ruin

I know I said goodnight to everyone in my previous post, however the first details of Heroes of Ruin have come in and I thought a few of you might like to hear what's in store for the game. Some of the details include:

-Supports up to 4 players simultaneously
-Weapons, armor, and classes are completely customizable as well as upgradable as you progress
-Online co-op play with voice chat and the ability to drop in and out whenever you choose
-Spotpass DLC

Heroes of Ruin Debuting on 3DS

As reported earlier, Square Enix and N-Space are teaming up to create a couple of games. Now it's been revealed that one of those games is titled Heroes of Ruin and will be heading to the 3DS. So far that's all we know, but we do have this nifty piece of artwork to check out.
