RUMOR - Project Offset WiiU Game Exlusive?

The image above and video below is for a game known as Project Offset. The company originally behind this project was acquired by Intel, only to have Intel cancel the project. This all took place back in 2009. Rumor has it that the project was picked up by Nintendo and set for publishing on the Wii U. However unlikely, it is a rumor so I'm posting it up.

RUMOR - College choir singing Skyward Sword song at Nintendo press conference

I wanted to let you in on some info on Nintendo's press conference. My classmate at a southern California university CSUF will be performing with his choir at E3. Today is a rehearsal at the university. Monday night is his dress rehearsal. He has informed me that the music is for Skyward Sword. That's all I have. Enjoy the choir and E3.

This would certainly be a strange rumor to make up, but, as always, take this with a grain of salt...

RUMOR - Project Cafe to be called simply 'Nintendo'

It seems that the team over at Game Informer has been hearing recent reports from within the industry that claim Nintendo's upcoming console, codenamed 'Project Cafe', may in fact be called simply 'Nintendo'. This would tie in with rumors of the console supposedly resembling a modern day SNES, as back in those days everyone and their mom referred to almost every game system as simply 'the nintendo'.

Personally, I kinda like it. It's strong, yet modest, and it really does bring me back. I mean, in my opinion Nintendo's most badass sounding console name to this day was the 'Nintendo Entertainment System'. It just doesn't sound like something you'd wanna mess with, and likewise calling it simply 'Nintendo' would make it sound all encompassing.

As always, take this with a grain of salt. We're not even two days away from finding out the truth, so enjoy these final moments of speculation while they last.

RUMOR - Massive Project Cafe Rumor Overload

Lately news has been sooo slow. This is what I call the calm before the storm, folks. Everything is quiet, but we know it's coming. Here's a collection of "supposed" Cafe rumors which, to me, mostly seem entirely fake. The only one's that seem to make any sense are the ones that are common sense, but I'm posting it up due to the drought we're having.

RUMOR - Project Cafe won't be 'another Dreamcast' in terms of power

This information here supposedly comes from a close 3rd party contact...

“Nintendo’s new machine is powerful and though I hate to bash, it won’t be another Dreamcast. This will be the PS2 of its generation.”

Let's hope this is nothing but the truth, as if it were the Dreamcast of the generation it would mean essentially being forgotten and left behind once Sony and Microsoft release their new consoles...

RUMOR - Nintendo to show off new Mario title for Cafe at E3

This is coming from CVG's part two of their E3 2011 rumors round-up...

Rumour: Nintendo has a new console... and a new Mario.
...we've also heard another little whisper from our Ninty sources - that Super Mario 3DS won't be the only new Mario title to be shown off in Los Angeles. Could we be looking at a Super Mario Galaxy for the next, next generation?

We all know a Mario gaming is gonna hit Cafe eventually, we only have to ask when. While I honestly don't know if there will be Mario shown off for Cafe at E3, I will say this... If an actual new Mario title is shown off, and not just a tech demo, there's no reason why said Mario game wouldn't be a launch title for Cafe...

RUMOR - Project Cafe to be on-hand at Australia's EB Expo

Inside sources are claiming that Nintendo will be bringing Project Cafe to Australia's EB Expo event. This rumor most likely stems from the fact that Nintendo is booking a lot of space at the show. Remember, all this is just rumors for now, but if Cafe were to see an early 2012 launch, this expo being in late 2011 would make a lot of sense...

RUMOR - Latest Batch of Zelda: Skyward Sword rumors

These originate from 4chan, so take from them what you will. I think the lot of them are you know what...

- Zelda has a new design, similar to an Egyptian princess with brown hair. She's still recognizable however.

- Skyward Sword is complete, but still needs debugging/testing.

- There will be a demo at E3 with three different aspects of the game explored: Flying combat, overworld + sky exploration, desert dungeon.

-Skyward Sword girl's name is "Dorella."

-Magician from GDC trailer's name is "Nephiburoo," he'll be a part of a group of evil sorcerers who wish to obtain the Triforce.

-Ganondorf is in the game briefly as a child. Isn't too important to the story.

-Full orchestrated soundtrack by the person responsible for Super Mario Galaxy's soundtrack

-Two overworlds: Skyloft and Hyrule. Contrast is similar to Heaven and Hell.

-Ten minute live-action prologue that'll be posted on the net a couple of months before release.

-After you complete the game, the game goes into a storyless, neverending epilogue. Every dungeon in the game gets another dungeon inside of it utilizing everything you've obtained in the game with new bosses. New areas on the overworld are unlocked in places you wouldn't expect. Similar to the original Zelda.

-Game will feature horse riding and boat riding. Not as expansive as seen in Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, however, but a boat will be required to complete some dungeons.

-Coming November 1st, 2011.

RUMOR - New Zelda to be shown at E3?

Last night we told you that Eiji Aonuma was going to be on Famitsu's Nico Nico channel to talk about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and Famitsu also stated that there would be some interesting development news to check out.

Well, the live-event is over with, and we're hearing that Mr. Aonuma said that a new Zelda title will be shown during the week of E3. This title is related to the 25th anniversary of Zelda. For now, take this with a grain of salt, although it does make me wonder what Miyamoto meant when he said that he planned on doing something for Zelda's 25 anniversary that would allow gamers to celebrate together... Four Swords anyone? I guess time will tell.

RUMOR - Metal Gear Solid 5 could head to 3DS?

Straight from NeoGaf...

...next installment in the "main" MGS franchise (Metal Gear Solid 5, basically) is scheduled for this generation as a multiplatform release, with PS3, Xbox 360, NGP and "possibly 3DS" mentioned as landing platforms.

I'd say that if it was heading to the PSP as well, there's a good possibility the 3DS could be getting a more definitive handheld version, however, with it coming to NGP and "possibly 3DS" it's a little harder to rationalize and makes me worry that if it did in fact come to the 3DS it would be a watered down port.  guess only time will tell. In the meantime give me Metal Gear Solid 3!

RUMOR: Wii Successor Controller To Feature Front Facing Camera

Here's the latest round of Wii 2 rumours. They're not unlike what we've already heard:

- includes a front-facing camera system
- can be used for in-game images
- this source also says there's a six-inch touch-screen
- may include a stylus
- speculation that the 3DS could be used as a controller
- “The functions are the same. It is a standard wireless controller added with a front-facing camera and touch screen. That sounds far too much like a 3DS to me. But I can’t confirm this, Nintendo is being very cautious about the details.”

I don't recall a time when I've heard a rumor from so many places and it turning out to be false before. So, while all the details might not be exact, by now I'm willing to bet that these alleged features do have some merit to them.

What do you guys think? The console in question looks just like the supposed leaked images we saw a few weeks back which many hailed as fakes. I guess E3 really can't get here soon enough.
